Pharmacy Manager

New Jersey, short commute from NYC. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to lead our Pharmacy Department and ensure exceptional clinical, operational, and financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill the role of legal pharmacist-in-charge, maintaining compliance with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy Rules.
  • Manage and oversee the clinical, administrative, and operational functions of the Pharmacy Department.
  • Implement and monitor a comprehensive unit of use drug distribution service, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with USP 797 standards by running a top-notch IV admixture service.
  • Develop and maintain compliance with USP 800 guidelines, educating staff accordingly.
  • Establish and monitor clinical programs and services, with a focus on antimicrobial stewardship.
  • Implement effective strategies to prevent controlled substance diversion, utilizing Automated Dispensing Systems.
  • Serve as a key member of interdisciplinary committees and act as Secretary and a voting member of the Pharmacy, Therapeutics, and Nutrition Committee.
  • Foster staff development through training initiatives and ensure adherence to educational requirements.
  • Perform and facilitate drug utilization evaluations to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Manage operational and capital budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Lead the hiring and training of new employees, fostering a supportive and high-performing team.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of employee performance, providing feedback and guidance.

Requirements:

  • Pharmacist licensure in the state of New Jersey, in good standing.
  • Proven experience in pharmacy management and leadership in hospital settings.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, including USP 797 and USP 800.
  • Familiarity with clinical programs, antimicrobial stewardship, and drug utilization evaluations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and team-building skills.
